Polish straight edge band The Age (aka Second Age) make their vinyl debut with this 6-track 7" EP. After a CD EP and a full length CD album, that was released on Refuse Records in their homecountry, this is also their first 'international' release. Mixing youthcrew with melodic hardcore, adding lyrics focusing primarily on scene-related issues and straight edge, The Age clearly show why they are considered as one of the leading East European straight edge bands. The record, that is a benefit for a local horse shelter, comes in a stylish sleeve. |

Ambitions have a welcomed sound of heavy yet melodic hardcore that is often tried but not nearly executed as well as these guys. Featuring 3 core members from the widely known WITH HONOR (Victory Records), the guys are back with a new band and a fresh new sound. After their debut EP "Question" was released in the summer of 2006 on Think Fast Records the band was quickly approached by the esteemed Bridge 9 Records to release their upcoming full length in '07. Ambitions have been working hard to be heard. They've toured up and down the coast as well as dates with Modern Life Is War & Bane. The 4 songs found here on "No Limits" are from their late '05 demo recordings that have been remastered for all to enjoy and see where this band started out. Comparisons have been made to Ignite, H20, late era Bold, Grey Area, Shelter, & Dag Nasty. Company like that isn't too shabby to be in!

This is my new favorite 7"!!! It starts off with a great mix of Cro-Mags grooves combined with Integrity-esque lead guitars. The production is great and clean yet raw and mean. Cold Inside (formally Unity Murder) come from a place known as Finland but have strong influences from many great US bands of yesteryears. But don't let that fool you as these guys seem like the real deal and pay homage to a sound and attitude they love. I can't wait to hear more from this band. For fans of the old and new sounds of: Judge, Integrity, In Cold Blood, Floorpunch, Right Brigade, Shipwreck, Living Hell, Bitter End, & Iron Age. Import. |

These two bands are young but play like hardcore vetrens. Lead By Example play a Posi hardcore style with the same feel as Tear it Up, Cut the Shit and American Nightmare. Gung Ho have the Youth Crew revival, bull by the horns with an 80's D.C. brand of fast, possitive and pissed hardcore.

Goldust is a five piece from muenster, germany. They are heavily influenced by the spirits of INTEGRITY, TERROR, FROSTBITE, BLACK SABBATH and NO WARNING. The Tempest 7” deals with the inner struggle within every human being and the elemental fear that creeps beneath your soul since birth. Everyone of us carries a bastard deep inside which can sometimes overwhelm the real-you and overpower your actions and lead to sin and destruction. But in the middle of the storm of souls and failures there lies hope and luck. Goldust delivers pissed vocals, sharp riffs, breakdowns, guitar slicks and blistering non-compromising lyrics which deal with everydays struggle, the strength to carry your soul through the depths of mankind and the search for the light. Lets get free and cleanse yourself in the rain of the oncoming tempest. Goldust is a straight edge band.

The Bay Area of California is well represented on this split, first with the now-defuct Heads Up! playing a fast, thrashy hardcore punk with floor-stomping mosh parts with a Kid Dynamite cover, and Rivaly Records' Red Handed rounding out this 7" with their own brand of youthful hardcore punk including a Poison Idea cover.

Started in 2003, Learn burst onto the vibrant Rhode Island scene with a demo impressing everyone within earshot. The band was quickly snatched up for a debut 7" on Bottled Up Records, which sold quickly for such a new group (1,000 pressed to date). After a successful USA tour with friends in Have Heart, "Life And..." was written. In these 7 new songs Learn shows the maturity of an established band, blending elements of historic Cleveland hardcore (like the almighty Integrity) with the modern flavor played by their peers such as Modern Life Is War.

Cleveland Straight Edge! Started from the ashes of Commited, In The Red and The Final Plan. Keeping the spirit of fast positive straight edge-hardcore alive. Names For Graves deliver heartfelt and passionate old school hardcore with enough hooks, melodies and dance parts. One of the new promising bands - don't hesitate to check them out. Their 7” contains 5 songs, mastered by Mr. Issa Diao in The Black House Studion, Washington DC.

The debut-7” of North from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. North, in which we recognize some former members of GuidingLine, X-Men and Crivits, labels itself as ‘positive old school’ and that is exactly what this band is about. Musically, North also mixes some rock-influences into their music, and there are a lot of guitar melodies to be found in their songs. The lyrics not only reflect the positive outlook on life of the band, but also the interest the band members take in eastern philosophy. |

On My Side is a young Houston hardcore band that's intention is to bring fast, straightedge hardcore reminiscent of bands like Youth of Today, Desperate Measures, Beyond, and Warzone. Starting in early 2006 they had intentions of playing hardcore the way they felt Texas needed: fast, fun, and straightedge. OMS started to play shows around Texas and gain fans in the process. After recording with Craig Douglas (Will To Live, Cast In Grey)

The music is fast, energetic and bursting with power. Take YOT, Judge and add some Infest and this is what you get, but of course with Product X's own personality. They are a Dutch straightedge band and make me sit up and notice. Oh how this band brings back memories of the 80's. Great tunes, lyrics and packaging. Buy this.

Product X (which if you hadn't guess by the name) are another excellent Dutch sXe band. They play superfast hardcore, with some youthcrew influences - but they just have an extra edge (no pun intended) where their songs are just true to themselves. Excellent caring lyrics, some real neat hooks and riffs - blasted at you at full force. Awesome packaging as usual - a must.

| Turn the tide "whats behind these eyes " 7inch | ||
![]() |
Turn The Tide started out as a project in Ocotber 2006, when people involved in several other Finish hardcore bands, decided it was time for a straight edge band playing traditional hardcore in Finland again, as such a band had been lacking since the breakup of On A Solid Rock. Although Turn The Tide take the inspiration for their sound clearly from the classic youthcrew bands, their sound also contains elements of melodic punkrock and even classic rock, with raw production adding an extra sting. Shouted by a voice that sometimes brings Ian MacKaye to mind, the lyrics on their debut-7” are reflections of everyday life and relations with other people: greed, love, self-confidence and personal choices and growth.

Debut-7” of Up Rights, a straight edge band from Toulouse, France. Up Rights is not exactly new on the scene, as they played their first show in October 1996, being formed that same year after the break-up of Conform Choice. Mainly inspired by the late 1990s wave of European straight edge bands, Up Rights play fast, energetic and melodic old school hardcore and couple it with a message of drugfree pride and positivity, while taking a stand against the evils of today’s hardcore scene, like violent attitudes, fashion slavery and MySpace addicts.
